This is a chronicle of horrible (and hopefully some good? we’ll see?) things that happen to me as I travel. If you’re interested in travel, snarky comments, and winky frowns, then you have come to the right place!
I heard a real person say this in sincerity
This summer I’m an intern at Berkshire Theatre Festival in Western Massachusetts, and boy do I have so much to say about it already. I came here just two days after graduation, which meant that I had one day to spend time with my family, pack my apartment, say goodbye to all my friends, and move to a dumpy cabin in the woods in western Mass. I arrived at the beautiful “Lavan Campus” on Tuesday afternoon and promptly panicked about being trapped in this dump all summer. The place where all the interns live is this enormous old house that is incredibly run down. It’s kind of like living in the dorms again except more terrible. I have two roommates, but I haven’t met one of them yet.
Today most of us had the day off so we were sitting around after brunch and someone said “wouldn’t it be funny if we climbed a mountain?”. So we did. And boy was it funny.
Man. What a place is this.

As I work on my last paper of my college career I have been listening to this song over and over in the library. Please enjoy it as much as I do, if you can.

We have exciting news! We have officially contracted a performance venue for our time in Edinburgh. We will be giving 16 performances in Edinburgh with a company called theSpace UK at their space on the Royal Mile. We are really excited about having this venue, because it is a FANTASTIC location in relation to the rest of the festival. Hundreds of people walk up and down the Royal Mile every day during the festival, promoting their shows and looking for shows to see.
Our space holds an audience of 55, which we think is perfect for the nature of our show. The stage set up is in the corner with audience seated on 2 sides. We think this will provide us a lot of creative options in how things are staged.
In addition to a great space and location, we are very excited to work with theSpace UK because they provide us a lot of additional support for free. Our show will be advertised in the brochures that they print for their venues as well as on their website. They operate their own box office daily from 9:30 AM to 10 PM. They will also provide us technical and advertising support throughout the process.
We will be giving 2 previews and 14 performances at 1 PM, August 3-18 (not Sundays). Now that we’ve established this very important detail, many other pieces of the puzzle can start falling into place. Designers will be able to begin the bulk of their work. We have also established the exact dates we will be in Scotland, so we can book our housing and plane tickets as well. It’s all starting to come together!

We are now more than halfway to our Kickstarter goal! We are hoping to exceed $2,500 in the Kickstarter campaign. However, if we aren’t pledged at least our set goal, we won’t receive any of the funds. Please continue to back our project and send the link to those who are interested!
